What it is

tebDictate turns your phone into the microphone. You speak into the phone, and the words appear as text on any computer, in the browser, with nothing to install. It is built by Dr. C (Dr. Mohammad Chelehmalzadeh, emergency physician), for doctors, nurses and other clinicians, and anyone else who would rather talk than type.

Three steps

  1. Open tebdictate.com on the computer.
  2. Scan the QR code with your phone.
  3. Speak. Your words appear on the computer.

Who uses it

Doctors, nurses, clinicians, and anyone who dictates notes, messages or documents.

Privacy

tebDictate is end-to-end encrypted, and nothing readable is stored. Read the tebDictate privacy page.

Common questions

Is free medical dictation really free?

Yes. tebDictate is free to use: your phone is the microphone and the text appears on your computer.

Does it work on hospital computers?

It runs in the browser, so there is nothing to install. If a hospital blocks the site, ask your IT team. The tebDictate privacy page explains how it works.

Which languages does it support?

See tebdictate.com for the current list of languages.

Is this the same as the tebChart app?

No. tebChart is a separate free iPhone app for patients and families that organizes discharge instructions and medications. tebDictate is the dictation tool.
